Connect with Remote Direct

Run this on the computer where your coding sessions live:

npx vibelet

Remote Direct is enabled by default. Open the current Vibelet app and scan the new pairing QR code. You do not need a separate networking app or account.

Vibelet attempts an encrypted direct connection and uses an encrypted relay when direct connectivity is unavailable. Connection availability depends on your network; a connected session does not always mean the underlying path is direct.

Add an optional Cloudflare path

Cloudflare is off by default. To add it alongside Remote Direct:

npx vibelet --cloudflare

Add --force to request a fresh Cloudflare URL.

Use only the local network

npx vibelet --access=local

This skips remote access for the current run. Both devices must be able to reach each other on the local network.

Check a connection

The app shows “Remote Direct” instead of an internal forwarding address. That address is managed by Vibelet and does not need editing.

For troubleshooting, run npx vibelet status or npx vibelet logs. Keep pairing codes and diagnostic files private. If pairing fails, generate a fresh QR code and scan it with the current app.

Remote Direct does not change system VPN, DNS, or routes. An existing network address may remain another connection path.
